    As the Kinks approached the Summer of Love, their lyrics and music started to take on a decidedly English sound.

    By then, America seems to have all but forgotten that the band existed, and even England was beginning to let their attention drift. The band was deeply out of touch with the psychedelic sounds of this era, but their music stands up much better than most of their competition from this same era.

    This show features part one of songs from “Face to Face,” the album that the Kinks released during the “Summer of Love”. Next show, we will complete our coverage of the album.

    Featured tracks include;

    I’ll Remember

    This Is Where I Belong

    Little Women

    David Watts

    Death of a Clown

    Two Sisters

    No Return

    Harry Rag

    Tin Soldier Man

    Situation Vacant
